The ethnographic complex “Pimchyh” (translated from Itelmen language as “flame”) is a real village, where centuries-old traditions are carefully preserved by the Itelmen community. The village is located in the forest at the foot of the mountain Ostraya.

The village is an open-air museum: expositions of ancient Itelmen’s winter and summer dwellings, which are equipped with objects of ancient life, a totem hill of idols and much more. The complex was built in 2002 in accordance with the descriptions of S.P. Krasheninnikov, who explored Kamchatka in the XVIII century.

Visiting programs are very diverse. You can stay in Pimchy from four hours to three days. If time allows, you can stay overnight and take part in the mysterious rite “Walking over the coals”, which the locals use to purify the spirit.

Itelmen are very happy to welcome guests, they want to introduce as many people as possible with their culture and history.
